2006 PRESS RELEASE
Elements range re-coloured
We originally launched our Elements range in 2003 and it's success was immediate. The challenge, when developing the product, was to overcome a long-standing issue - how to make a plain, solution dyed nylon product without streaks. We over-came this issue by using our unique 12th gauge scroll tufting equipment to incorporate a subtle texture into the surface of the carpet.
The result is a clean and elegant product that compliments contemporary interior design and helps create an uncluttered, efficient workspace whilst performing to the highest standards.
A major problem with plain carpets, when installed in commercial areas, is that they tend to "ugly out". With no pattern or texture to hide soiling, and with the colour applied to the surface of the yarns, plain carpets simply cannot handle the rigours of modern office life. However by using solution dyed nylon in a dense construction, these issues are overcome, and the design benefits of a plain carpet realised.
The benefits of using solution dyed nylon are significant, especially in a plain carpet. As the fibre is dyed to the core the colour is fixed and will not fade, even when cleaned with harsh chemicals. The addition of a fluorocarbon stain-blocker further ensures the carpet will release soiling efficiently. Encore SD Ultima solution dyed nylon, manufactured by J&J Industries and exclusive to Quadrant, is an extremely high quality nylon which provides all these performance benefits and contains a minimum 25% recycled nylon content, which makes great sense for the environment.
The hard-wearing nature of Elements is further guaranteed by the carpet's construction, which is incredibly tight. The product is tufted on 12th gauge equipment with a high stitch rate and this results in 250,000 individual tufts per square metre, representing a construction up to 40% denser than most other heavy commercial specifications. Performance is underwritten by lifetime guarantees for wear, static protection, colour- fastness and stain removal.
Having launched the original colour range in 2003, we quickly realised that architects and designers wanted greater colour choice so we set about expanding the palette. The new range of 32 colours has a beautiful, organic feel, with plenty of light and mid-tone neutrals alongside a careful selection of more saturated tones. The subtlety and sophistication of the palette is very unique for a solution dyed nylon product, made possible by of the superb selection of colour components in the Encore range.
The new Elements range is both highly innovative and practical and is the first in a series of product launches, scheduled for the coming months, that feature our hallmark combination of beautiful form and uncompromising function.
