2007 PRESS RELEASE
Reload Re-engineered
Reload, originally launched in 2005, has been re-engineered and re-coloured, and is now available from stock in 16 new colours. We have switched from Invista yarn to our exclusive Encore SD Ultima solution dyed nylon in order to provide specifiers with a higher recycled nylon content and a more contemporary set of colours.
The Reload pattern has proved very popular amongst specifiers as it combines functionality and aesthetics perfectly. The subtly textured surface is particularly effective at hiding soiling while the broken grid effect of the pattern is both modern and ensures tile joints virtually disappear once installed. Design Director Eve Waldron has created a really sophisticated palette of cool and warm neutrals and pared-down colours that are both individual and very useable.
Whilst aesthetics and performance are high on our list of priorities when developing product, we are also totally committed to making our products more sustainable and building in genuine environmental benefits. By switching to Encore SD Ultima, Reload now contains between 25% and 51% pre-consumer recycled nylon and further reduces our dependence as a business on non-renewable resources. We have also switched the primary backing to Colback SMR100 which contains 100% post-consumer recycled PET and increased the pile weight of the product so that the performance is further enhanced - the longer our carpet stays on the floor the less it's negative environmental impact.
