Over the past few years we have made excellent progress at incorporating significant amounts of recycled fibre across our ranges. This year we have begun to address other raw materials used to make our commercial tiles. In May we introduced a new, sustainable primary backing (the non-woven scrim into which the yarns are tufted). Manufactured by Colbond, Colback SMR is made from a combination of Polyamide and Polyester (PET) with PET comprising 75% by weight of the finished product. The PET content of Colback SMR is made from locally-sourced, post-consumer recycled PCR-PET.
We have introduced this product into four of our products, Elements, Erosion, Reload and Abstraction, with immediate effect.
