In 2007 the European Union and the UK government introduced legislation designed to reduce the amount of packaging going to landfill. The UK regulations are implemented through a unique system of Shared Producer Responsibility, and as a manufacturer we have an obligation to pay for the recovery and recycling of an equivalent amount to offset our obligations. In July 2007 Quadrant became a member of the Valpak compliance scheme.
Earlier in 2007 we switched all our cartons, used for packing our products, to 100% recycled cardboard.
