LiteLock, our new low-weight precoat, already standard on our Abstraction range, has been rolled out to the Elements, Erosion and Reload ranges effective 1st January 2008. The key feature of the new compound is that it is applied at a much lower weight than traditional precoats, without performance being compromised. This means that not only does it require less raw material from unsustainable sources, but also requires less energy to produce, transport and apply. The result is a 47% reduction in applied dry weight, a 60% reduction in filler content and a 60% increase in coverage per tonne of compound. We anticipate using over 30 tonnes less precoat this year, as a result of the change.
